Day 16 - Singapore
Our final day of the trip.
With the time change this day will wind up being the length of two days. Our flight was to leave at 9:25 on Monday morning and arrive at 9:45 on Monday morning.
Our morning started early so we could run downstairs to the hotel breakfast. We loaded up on a very impressive spread and enjoy fruit, eggs, dumplings and all other kinds of foods. From the breakfast we made the short walk to Terminal 3 and over to our check-in counter. Everything we were told was that we needed to check-in 2 hours before our flight since it was international and while it was definitely a good idea to have done that, check-in only took us 5 minutes. We used the kiosks and printed our boarding passes within a minute of getting to the counter area. From there we made our way through immigration and over to our gate where we waited for them to open it and begin security.
My cold at this point was under control enough that while I didn't think it was be a perfect flight, that my head wouldn't give me too many problems on the flight. On the flight over from the States we had a 2 people in front of us instead of 3 and there was a hope that would happen again on the flight back to the States but unfortunately that did not happen.
We settled into our seats and soon took off. The flight was scheduled for 15 hours and luckily we had a good tail wind and the flight wound up taking only 14 hours, a definite improvement. I spent those 14 hours attempting to sleep whenever I felt tired but in reality I didn't sleep a wink which meant I spent the whole flight watching movies and listening to music.
We arrived early and made our way across the bay where we had to make sure to stay awake for the rest of the day to try and adjust to the massive 15 hour time change. Unfortunately, landing also meant that our trip was over but now we can figure out where to go next year.
